CAROUSEL #03: There goes the Neighborhood

The Carousel Microcinema

is very pleased to participate in the inauguration of THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD! on Sunday June 6th, 7pm to 9pm. This time, the carousel really does roll! Three sets of video loops will be site-specifically placed for ambient effect at the apex of  Jessica Sledge’s  processional/performance titled, “Taking Up Space”. In full disclosure, Carousel was invited to participate in this project due to its association with UCSD’s Visual Arts MFA program. Several of the artist producing and participating in this four day event are  students with whom I have the pleasure of working. I’m so pleased to now have this opportunity to collaborate with them.

To join Jessica’s procession, “Taking Up Space”,  please gather at 6:15 pm in the alley between University Ave + Lincoln Ave and 30th St + Ohio St. The performance begins in the alley at 6:30 pm. Walk starts at 7pm along the procession route (see map below). The procession ends with a musical performance at the vacant lot between Lincoln Ave + Polk Ave and Georgia St + Florida St. Wear red, black and silver.

COME ONE! COME ALL!
