COLOR: ART, SEX, AND MAGIC, oh my.

HOMAGE TO SPECTRUM: GILERT BAKER'S ORGINAL PRIDE FLAG 1978

I’ll explain later. But in short. In talking about the spectrum of color, it seemed very important to look back at the Betsy Ross of Gay Pride – Gilbert Baker. He hand-dyed all eight strips of the first two flags he made. Each color signifies an element of identity. I wish I could commission Mr. Nordine to write a poem about Mr. Baker’s flag and the significance of the eight colors. I need to think about it a little more. But in short: the pink and the turquoise stripes need to be restored pronto. Power to the people.
